Since childhood, rich in his passion for animals acquired in the French countryside, Tania grew up in a family of potters. It is therefore quite natural that she adopted ceramics to convey her emotions, and raku to personalize her creations.
Having become an independent ceramist sculptor in 2002, his bestiary adopted all animals with great sweetness. Unique pieces, his sculptures modeled in clay, most often in the mass, are then baked according to the technique of raku or sandstone.
A trip to Africa, a cross look in a wildlife park, a silhouette, for a moment, give him the irrepressible need to revive him in the studio. A real emotion, almost maternal, animates his works: a lively look, a movement, a posture, the precision of skins and pelts… a moving and sincere dexterity.
Its elephants, turtles, orangutan babies and other hippopotamuses have attracted the curiosity of the public at its numerous exhibitions in France and Europe: Pompon Museum, Saulieu in 2015, Animal Art Paris and Brussels in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, among others. Distinguished by numerous awards such as the Grand Prix d'Art at the Biennale de Rambouillet in 2006, the Bronze Medal at Animal Art Paris in 2017, the Gold Medal at Animal Art Brussels in 2018 and at Animal Art Paris in 2021, Tania Boucard undoubtedly occupies a place of choice among her peers.
Nature and animal lovers, whether in the African bush, in the parks of Quebec, in the forest or on the banks of the Loire… nature is a wonder and the animal is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for the continuation of his work.
